Willi Memmert, the founder of the company, was a tireless and meticulous inventor. Throughout his life, customer requirements were the impetus for product innovation and development, and things have remained so in the Memmert company to this day.
When the Red Cross commissioned him in 1947 to build a hot air steriliser, to prevent the danger of infection and disease, Willi Memmert also demonstrated his practical talent, because in those times of economic hardship he found the perfect material for his first oven: recycled aluminium from old aircraft parts.
The Aeolus, named after the Greek god of wind, was one of the very first ovens to have a rectangular working chamber, rather than a circular one - an enormous technological advance that at last convincingly solved the challenge of providing uniform temperature distribution.
From the Aeolus, Willi Memmert created a success story typical of the period of the economic miracle. In a very short time he developed further appliances for series production, marketing them beyond the borders of his home market.
Just a few years later, deliveries were made all across the globe from the newly built company headquarters in southern Germany.
When the manufacturing capacity in the main factory was no longer sufficient, Memmert built a further factory in 1974. The ideal conditions for its impressive manufacturing depth were in place, together with a guaranteed high product quality - the value added internally stands at over 90%.
Globally oriented, continually pushing through innovations, but at the same time remaining true to its traditions and responsibility towards customers, employees and the environment - the secret of Memmert's success lies in this company philosophy exemplified by its founder.
