Relay achievements at the Quelle challenge competition in June 2007

After 11 hours, 21 minutes and 55 seconds they completed their run and had beaten last year's time by almost thirty minutes: Ralf Achtnicht from Development, Ronald Muehe from Customer Service, and Peter Krieger from the IT department  were overjoyed with their 214th place at the triathlon relay competition of the Quelle Challenge 2007.

The triathlon relay competitors happily at the finish

140 000 spectators enthusiastically supported the athletes at Europe's largest triathlon competition near Roth on 24 June 2007. Among them was our robot specialist Salvatore Giurdanella (www.foto-salvatore.de),who once more impressively proved his expertise as sports photographer, and Sandra Pflegel from Memmert order handling who remained at her feeding station right to the end in order to give our marathon runner Peter Krieger a refreshing drink on the way.

This year he took 3 hours, 35 minutes and 49 seconds for the 42 km run - a time which before the competition he had not expected to achieve in spite of 12 weeks' hard training. Faced with such achievements in training and competition the ordinary spare-time sportsman can not fail to be impressed. Thus Ronald Muehe cycles each month more than 500 km besides his whole-time job at Memmert. "This is more than I drive in four weeks" laughs his marathon partner. And the result: 6 hours, 8 minutes and 22 seconds for the 180 km cycling distance over hill and dale. And Ralf Achtnicht who in his day job only works with his head, swims in his spare time innumerable lanes. He came out of the water after 1 hour, 34 minutes, 5 seconds and 3800 m and encouraged his two colleagues during the next hours. The decision is made: next year they will again take part as Team Memmert!
