For many years, structured stainless steel has been the unmistakable feature of our products in the laboratory. Functional design in its most elegant form: scratch-resistant, hygienic, robust and durable.
Memmert temperature control chambers and heating baths can be found in microbiology laboratories and equally in industrial test laboratories.
Whenever they are used, the superiority of high-quality stainless steel can be seen compared to coated sheet steel, which can corrode very quickly when in constant use.
For the outer housing of all Memmert temperature control chambers, structured stainless steel is used (rear walls are made of galvanised steel sheets); and for the inner chamber and sliding shelves of every universal oven, incubator and steriliser, as well as for housing, interior basin and accessories for every heating bath, stainless steel of class W-St. 1.4301 (ASTM 304) is used.
The surface roughness of conventional stainless steel can neither be felt with the fingers nor seen with the bare eyes. And yet in some circumstances they can provide a large surface for germs only a few micrometers in length. For working with biological materials the interior of the CO2-incubator can be additionally electropolished (option). At the same time the corrosion resistance of the material is increased by this procedure. Shelves and interior are completely made of stainless steel 1.4301 (ASTM 304).
Since aggressive substances are frequently used in the vacuum drying oven, the inner chamber and thermoshelves are made of stainless steel W-St. 1.4404 (ASTM 316L), and the tubing is made of stainless steel W-St. 1.4571 (ASTM 316i). To achieve an optimum temperature distribution on all separately heated levels in the chamber, the thermoshelves for our vacuum drying oven are manufactured from anodised and surface-enhanced aluminium as standard. For applications with highly-corrosive materials, we optionally recommend that you choose stainless steel shelves W-St. 1.4404 from our accessories list, because of their resistance to chemicals.
Incubator
The Memmert incubator I is ideally suited to incubation at temperatures of up to 70 °C - specifically for the in-vitro incubation of cell cultures, tissue cultures and bacteria cultures at 37 °C.
IPS temperature control storage chamber
The energy-efficient solution for storing and cooling samples: Absolutely reliable, controllable to a high degree, long-lasting and, above all, environmentally friendly with Peltier technology.
Environment technology
Application in-vitro incubation of bacteria cultures: Hygiene is the top priority when testing drinking water for Legionella bacteria.
Biology for all
The incubation of bacteria cultures in an incubator proved at an exhibition in Dublin how dangerous kisses can be!
