Brigitte Vogel, who started her first job in order processing at Memmert straight after leaving school in 1974, has lived through almost half of our company history. On 3rd September 2009 she celebrated her 35-year anniversary in the company, together with some of her colleagues.

Managing director Christiane Riefler-Karpa, commercial director Jürgen Gambert and the two sales managers, Gabriele Hartmann and Heinz Bayer, were among the many well-wishers. Heinz Bayer took the opportunity to thank Brigitte Vogel with a few personal words for her loyalty and commitment over many years. 35 years at Memmert was, of course, also a suitable cause to look back on good, but also hard, times. In all these years, Frau Vogel experienced not once, but twice the changes brought about by a change in generation, and the challenges connected with this.

She can still recall the strong personality of company founder Willi Memmert, who could instill a healthy respect in a 17-year-old girl, but who a moment later was friendly and constructive. “But woe betide if the square stamp was not applied correctly to the papers! We were all really glad when we finally got a round stamp, she says, grinning.

There were four of us back then in order processing. Packing slips were written by hand, invoice typewriters and typewriters with carbon paper were the order of the day, rather than computers. “When the first computers were introduced at the beginning of the 90s, things were often at a standstill for weeks on end, since the technology was new for all of us“, Brigitte Vogel recalls, but she was never afraid of changes. “You just have to get on with things“, she says succinctly.

The mother of a grown-up son spends much of her leisure time at home and in the garden. She finds relaxation in the evenings or at the weekend in cycling, short holidays, gymnastics and the Rednitzhembach jogging club. The management and all her colleagues at Memmert wish Brigitte Vogel continued happiness, satisfaction and level-headedness, and look forward to many years together.
