What are the differences between the IPP and the ICP compressor models?
Technically, the difference lies in the heating and cooling technology. The IPP is heated and cooled with Peltier elements, whereas the ICP is heated via an air jacket temperature control system and cooled with a compressor. The advantages of the IPP to the user lie in its reduced energy consumption of up to 90%, in the extremely low control fluctuations, as well as its particularly smooth and quiet running, without compressor noises.
Is the IPP Peltier-cooled incubator vibration-free?
The Peltier-cooled incubator is not completely free of noise and vibration. But the vibrations are so weak that it is ideal for breeding insects in research, for example.
Does the performance of the Peltier elements decrease over the years?
The core of a Peltier element consists of semiconducting materials, which are virtually wear-free. Two aspects determine its duration of life: manufacturing quality and above all an extremely sensitive temperature control. Memmert has a leading position in this field due to its in-house development of the own controllers. Thus the gentle switchover between hot and cold minimizes the thermo-dynamic stress on the modules.
Since the first IPP Peltier-cooled incubator was launched in 2000, thousands of Memmert Peltier appliances have been sold. Until now there have been no complaints or repairs because of the failure of a Peltier element.
