Case studies

Let us take you into the fascinating world of Memmert appliances, which we have collected on our user platform  AtmoSAFE. From turbo drying of vast amounts of powder in the vacuum drying oven to artificial ageing of cables in the heating oven to climate testing of electronic devices in the climate oven.

If you have questions regarding a special appliance please don’t hesitate to give us a shout:

Science can be exciting and fun

Outside scientific circles, few people are aware just how exciting working in a laboratory can be. For this reason, the news magazine FOCUS and the vfa, the German Association of Research-based Pharmaceutical Companies, have presented awards to photographers, now for the fifth time, who document the fascination of science and research in a spectacular, original and illustrative manner. 104 photographers, with over 400 pictures, submitted entries in 2009.

Energy efficiency in the laboratory

It is well known that many people have a blind spot that time and again prevents them from saving energy to counteract climate change and the shortage of resources. Time pressure, convenience or the feeling of not being able to get anything done all by yourself all too often stand in the way of the best intentions where climate protection is concerned.

Special customer-specific solutions

“For a complex customer-specific solution, sometimes specialists from the fields of electronics, mechanics and heating and cooling technology are involved at the same time“, explains Heinz Bayer, head of Technical Sales at Memmert. Because on the one hand, the Memmert seal of approval, 100% controlled atmosphere, also applies to individual solutions, on the other the delivery time also has to be right.

Hygiene is the top priority when testing drinking water quality for Legionnaire‘s disease

For German hospitals, nursing homes, public swimming pools and other public institutions Strong criteria apply for hygiene and a germ-free drinking water supply.

Incubation of bacteria

Living science: at an exhibition the Science Gallery in Ireland showed the mechanisms through which epidemic contagion occurs.

Reduced drying time optimises operational processes in waste management technology

Since 1st June 2005, unprocessed waste may no longer be disposed of at waste sites.

Constant climate chamber HPP shows behaviour of paper under humid conditions

At the Labelexpo 2009 in Brussels, visitors to the trade fair stand of the Swiss Cham Paper Group experienced live, through the glass doors of a constant climate chamber how the new, environmentally-friendly backing paper Silico Premium stayed dimension-stable, even at different levels of humidity.

Thermowood improves the tonal quality of musical instruments

A research project of the Institute for Musical Instrument Making at the TU Dresden in Zwota and the Institute for Wood and Paper Technology at the TU Dresden shows: Thermally modified timber, that is artificially aged wood, can considerably reduce storage times and costs.

Carbide for tool making

The Fraunhofer-Institut für Keramische Technologien und Systeme [Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems] IKTS Dresden looked into the question, whether humidity has an effect on the source materials and intermediate products during manufacture of carbides for machine tools and tool making.
