CIA Singapore Memmert says thank you

Memmert has always been committed to its philosophy of being close to its customers and their needs. This is the reason why Memmert opened their subsidiary in Shanghai about 1 year ago. On the occasion of CIA Singapore, Memmert managing director Christiane Riefler-Karpa took the opportunity to take stock of the situation, to talk about the company’s future plans in Asia and in particular to personally thank all customers from all across Asia for their loyalty and commitment.

The Asia team of Memmert did not have much time to explore the beauty of the booming city of Singapore as they had a tight schedule during their 4 days at the CIA, the leading event in Asia for process control and automation.

Visitors to the trade show were focused on the climatic test chamber CTC. Parallel to this, Heinz Bayer, technical sales manager, and Andrea Weiss, customer representative for Asia carried out trainings for business partners and customers. There had been lively discussions with participants on numerous topics such as trade-specific applications, requirements of the ICH and ASEAN guidelines or measurements of various parameters such as temperature, humidity and luminous intensity.

The highlight of the trip was without doubt the dinner event at KU DÉ TA, one of the world’s most spectacular and beautiful bar-restaurants. At a height of more than 200 metres, 75 guests from 14 countries came together to enjoy an excellent dinner and a breath-taking view over Singapore at night and the South China Sea.

The team came up with a very special idea to open the evening. Together with their guests from southeast Asia they sang Beethoven’s ‘Ode to Joy’. And so joy became the defining topic of the evening. Christiane Riefler-Karpa in particular was happy to have her sister Claudia Novotny and commercial director Jürgen Gambert at her side in Singapore.  In her speech, she briefly outlined further plans for Asia and thanked her team in Shanghai, especially general manager Clement Mu for his untiring commitment. She emphasised the short reaction times of the technical service department and the short delivery times of standard applications and replacement parts, thanks to on-site storage capacities.

Then, the Memmert managing director welcomed a new member to the Memmert team: Shailesh Bhat will support Indian customers at the Memmert subsidiary in Mumbai as of 2012. The last part of the speech was devoted to the future and the past alike. Christiane Riefler-Karpa drew a line from the past, the time in which her grandfather Willi Memmert founded the company, to the present and honoured the ingenuity of her parents and promised to continue the company tradition in the future and to develop tailor-made products for the Asian market. Memmert’s success in Asia would never have been possible without the commitment and the loyalty of their business partners. At the end of her speech, therefore, managing director Christiane Riefler-Karpa opened the social part of the evening with a huge and heartfelt ‘thank you’ to all her guests.
