Sustainability and environmental awareness are firmly anchored in the Memmert corporate strategy. As a responsible business, for us this means first and foremost that we must continually improve our appliances and make them as energy-efficient and eco-friendly as possible. This will enable our customers to work in an environmentally friendly and energy-efficient way. With our energy-saving Peltier heating and cooling system we are already heading in the right direction to drive the GreenLab forward.
It goes without saying that our sustainable and responsible actions apply holistically – towards the environment and natural resources, society and also our staff and their health. We try to implement this both in our production and in our daily business.
What are we already doing for the environment?

We are continuing and have optimised our packaging material
This year we have scrutinised and reduced our packaging material. Packaging of Memmert devices is obviously essential for safe shipping. But in future we will make sure that we only use the packaging necessary for secure transport, designed in the best possible way. High-quality and reduced packaging materials, which ensure that our cabinets arrive intact at the customer's premises, undoubtedly protect the environment.
This has saved both cardboard and the entire plastic film. On the other hand, the functionality of the packaging has also been improved so that damage to the devices during shipping can be avoided. Above all, adapting the cardboard box sizes to the product dimensions ensures stable packaging quality.
By switching to environmentally friendly and resource-saving packaging, Memmert is saving the following materials:
- 28,000 films eliminated per year.
This is a volume / area of film saved of 17,500 m2.
This corresponds to approx. 35 football pitches. - Saving of 6 tons of cardboard per year of inner packaging.
This corresponds to almost 10% less than the old inner packaging.
