For the first time in the 22-year long history of the event, winners Fraol Lencho Holjira (production), Sebastian Reinwand (project management) and Andreas Straßner (logistics) passed the finish line holding hands as a sign of team spirit at the company run in spite of ambitious personal goals. Finishing 8th, student employee Michael Batz' run was the icing on the cake for the team result. Many colleagues had attended the international laboratory trade fair ACHEMA and already were in Frankfurt, so they took the opportunity to participate in the race, among others commercial director Jürgen Gambert.
This year, € 1.80 per starter were donated to charity again. JP Morgan doubled this amount, resulting in a total donation of € 253,000 in favour of disabled sports. As a special highlight of the award ceremony, the successful runners were presented their medals by Olympic champion Katarina Witt and javelin world champion Steffi Nerius, who at the same time acts as patron of the National Paralympic Committee Germany.
Memmert had already won the JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge in Frankfurt last year. The 2014 world final of the series with runs in 13 financial metropolises will take place in San Francisco on 9 September. Our team will of course participate there as well. We would like to take this opportunity to already wish all athletes good luck and above all hope they have a great time running together.
