To the very end, it was a great event which once again drew thousands of young people, many of whom were accompanied by their parents. 52 companies vied to present their apprenticeship opportunities, so here at Memmert, we were naturally very pleased that a new record was set, with more than 200 registered attendees.
Production manager Werner Gerhard personally presented our products and the factory premises on short factory tours. Our guests learnt what a “Memmert wedding” looks like, why there are virtually no divorces, and how a medical device that is supplied worldwide is made from 8 m2 stainless steel. They then had the opportunity to learn about our seven different apprenticeships at various (interactive) stations. At the electronics production station, attendees attempted to solder electronic components, while a high-rack forklift was available in logistics for “handling drinks” and our small, gesture-controlled robot showed that there is also enormous potential for innovation in our industry, namely in laboratory device technology. Refreshments were also provided, with crepes for the attendees. Before experiencing this culinary delight, however, they had to answer three easy quiz questions. At the end of the night, many of the young attendees took home a funny souvenir photo from the photo booth.
Christina Neubauer, the Memmert HR manager, and the entire organisation team were pleased that the event proved to be an all-round success and that we held many great discussions with interested young people.
