Impressive performances at Challenge Roth 2021

The rising sun peeked over the horizon, fields of mist slowly floated over the water and rousing music echoed through the air. This was the atmosphere shortly before the start of the world's largest long-distance triathlon Challenge Roth. The anticipation and motivation of the 1,500 individual starters and 300 relays was almost palpable after more than two years without the Home of Triathlon. Of course, Memmert did not miss this great event. We were there, once again, as a sponsor and also were represented by 17 athletes - two individual starters and five relays.

Memmert flows on the running track

The weather didn't let us down throughout the day. The athletes mastered the bike course under clear skies and switched to their running shoes in Roth. The first athletes reached the transition area from cycling to running around noon. At this point, they had already been on the road for five hours. Their passion, perseverance, and top performance are simply impressive. It corresponds exactly to the values and work ethic at Memmert. All participants crossed the Memmert Mile thrice during the marathon - at the beginning of the run, after 30 kilometers, and shortly before the finish line. So we were able to give a motivation boost to the athletes on their last meters.

Even with half the participants and fewer spectators, the organizers managed to set up a most memorable and exhilarating event. A big thank you also goes to the many helpers who made it possible for the triathlon to take place - especially this year! As always, it was a pleasure for us to participate in Challenge Roth.

Women's relay Team Memmert 1 wins

This year's Challenge winners were Patrick Lange (7:19:19 hours) and Anne Haug (7:53:48 hours). Both new course records. We congratulate them on their outstanding achievement! One of the highlights for us was definitely winning the women's relay. Theresa Baumgärtel, Sophia Ramsauer, and Christine Ramsauer represented the Memmert team and crossed the finish line as winners after 8:52:19 hours. Marco Eckstein aced the triathlon as a single starter and crossed the finish line after 09:19:13 hours. The terrific achievements of all the triathletes of Team Memmert formed a brilliant conclusion for Team Memmert e.V. We are proud of the achievements of all club members. In recent years, however, club life has been limited to joint training sessions - there was usually no commitment for other activities. Therefore, the members decided to dissolve the association in a vote. Even if the colors of the jerseys of our former club colleagues will change in the future, we will, of course, continue to cheer them from the sidelines. We look forward to it!

Memmert continues to support regional sporting events

The dissolution of the association in no way affects our loyalty as a company to the region and the triathlon sport. Memmert continues to support smaller and larger events with a lot of passion, such as the Memmert Rothsee Triathlon or the Schwabacher Citylauf. In the future, we will focus even more on supporting children and youth sports events and thus pursue our original goal: to get young people enthusiastic about (triathlon) sport!
