In its September issue German laboratory magazine Laborpraxis reported on the cooled Memmert vacuum drying oven.

Freeze drying, the most common means of drying starter cultures and probiotics, is very energy-intensive. Low temperature vacuum drying is a promising prospect in reducing energy consumption.
