Julia Porzelt - The para dressage rider looks back on a successful 2019

We reported on the 24-year old Julia Porzelt from Prien a. Chiemesee in 2019 and provided an insight into Julia’s life and her passion for sports. Julia Porzelt is a successful athlete in disabled riding. Together with its two horses, the pony mare Lettenhof’s lovely Daintiness and her gelding Bruno, she can look back on a successful 2019.

Participation in the German and Bavarian championships

Julia Porzelt’s first international tournament was in 2019 at the Mannheim Market Show.

There she debuted her marvelous gelding Bruno. Julia had already been training with Bruno since the summer of 2018 and prepared the big horse with her trainer in Rosenheim to successfully participate in competitions and shows. The intensive training paid off for both of them. They were able to steadily improve their performance on every show day and on the last day even took fifth place in freestyle to music.

This was followed by the German championships in Munich Riem. Here they were both able to secure two fifth place finishes and one fourth place finish in a hard fought show.

Julia then competed at the season's highlight, the Bavarian championship, with her mare Dainty, which was the first tournament they competed in together after the long break due to injury. The two of them confidently took first place twice and thus became Bavarian champions over several degrees for the fourth time

Julia also had a great personal success. She finally won the trial for a health insurance subsidy for sports prostheses. The prostheses give her greater possibilities to be active in sports. Now, in addition to riding training, she can finally go jogging in order to be ideally prepared for the upcoming season, which she has been doing enthusiastically since the end of the year. Have a look for yourself!
