Start-finish-victory for Johnny Zipf

At the 31st Memmert Rothsee Triathlon Jonathan Zipf from Team Memmert won the title of Middle Franconian Champion 2019. Over the Olympic distance of 1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running he took just 1:53:39 hours. He had actually expected to have a neck-and-neck race with the Upper Franconian Andreas Dreitz, runner-up at last year's Challenge Roth. But then everything turned out differently in the end. Johnny won a confident start-finish-victory for Team Memmert.

Triathlon insiders know that Jonathan can already look back on an impressive sports record. Among other things, he was Junior Vice World Champion and twice German Champion. Injuries and health problems had so far prevented his great ambition, to take part in an Olympic race. He hopes it will work out for Tokyo in 2020. Memmert came on board as its main sponsor in 2018, as we believe that people like Johnny, who believe strongly in the realization of their dream should simply be supported.

Middle Franconian Team Champion

The best three individual starters of a club win the team ranking together at the end. Thanks to the great results of Sebastian Bleisteiner and Matthias Grosser, this title also went to Team Memmert.

Sophia Ramsauer from Team Memmert is now also one of the top Franconian triathletes. She recently qualified for the Ironman Middle Distance World Championship, which will take place in Nice in September. At Lake Roth she secured 4th place in the overall ranking and also the Middle Franconian title.

At the end of the exertions, the athletes and of course the numerous spectators were able to recover and fortify themselves in the finish area. Every year countless volunteers again turn the triathlon festival into a happy family celebration and in the "Memmert zone” too, the hard-working volunteer team cared for its numerous guests. For some, this meant relaxing in a deck chair, others took the opportunity to ask the staff about Memmert and the job prospects in Schwabach and Büchenbach. Of course, a Memmert climate chamber ICH260 for cooling the drinks could not be missing. And also the fishing competition for the Memmert triathlon rubber duckies again provided much laughter and fun.
