Night of Apprenticeships 2017

This year saw another “Night of Apprenticeships” in the Roth district, and we were a part of it! Along with 42 other companies, we opened our factory gates at our plant in Büchenbach on 23 June 2017. Like last year, we were once again pleased to welcome Gentner as our guest company, which also had a booth presenting the company to the public.

In total, we were happy to welcome about 150 interested young people and their parents and to answer a wide range of questions about training and apprenticeships at Memmert. Each of the fields of training we currently offer was explained by the apprentices and their trainers at an information stand. In addition to the seven familiar occupations that Memmert offers apprenticeships in, we also presented the job of “specialist in systems integration” as a new training course that we are launching this September.

The main theme this year was “Water” and Memmert’s relationship with water. In order to answer this question, we presented applications of our cabinets, e.g. for quality assurance of drinking water. There was also a water column, from which visitors could tap the water for themselves and try it in a Memmert beaker. We also served our visitors and Memmert employees with ice cream as well as sweet potato wedges, which were prepared in a Memmert heating oven. Other attractions on offer that evening included soldering of SMD smileys, putting drinks crates into a high bay warehouse with a forklift truck and various sporting stations such as basketball and a goal-shooting contest in the outdoor area. As every year, there was also a competition, where participants had to fish ducks out of our fire pond and hopefully catch one with a winning number to win a power bank.
