When 5,000 athletes and 220,000 spectators storm the placid town of Roth with its 24,000 inhabitants in the metropolitan region of Nuremberg, everyone knows: It's time for Europe's biggest triathlon, the world-wide most popular CHALLENGE ROTH.

Challenge: The name speaks for itself; it's the sport event of the year in the region that goes crazy for triathlons. 3.8 km...

Memmert would not miss the opportunity to gather an entire team for the 30th anniversary of the popular district run in Roth for the first time. Runners for 28 legs with different lengths (3.3 km – 10 km) had to be found, who would divide among them the entire distance of 160 km. Of course, we quickly found motivated employees here at Memmert.

1.5 kilometres swimming, 42 kilometres cycling and 10 kilometres running. This year, the established triathlon in the picturesque Franconian landscape took place under the name of Memmert Rothsee Triathlon for the first time. Team Memmert's excitement before the start was just as high as the level of enthusiasm after crossing the finish line.

The triathlon season has started, one event follows the other, and last Sunday, June 9, our Team Memmert took part in the Challenge Kraichgau. At this event in the north west of Baden-Wuerttemberg, the athletes participated as individual starters and in a relay team over the half distance, cheered on by a total of 45,000 enthusiastic spectators.

The Team Memmert athletes carry our colours into the world. Last weekend, at the Austria Ironman 70.3 St. Pölten, 5 of our athletes started in a Memmert jersey.

Grete Memmert Riefler passed away on May 13, 2013, at the age of 74 years. Over a longer period, she led production and development of the company as managing director and trained production engineer.

Why does the fire brigade have a Memmert drying oven? Ralf Achtnicht, head of development at Memmert and volunteer fireman in Schwabach, made a great effort so that his colleagues would be equipped with one of our appliances.

Young people are curious, eager for knowledge and committed. That is why Memmert, as an innovative company, places great value on promoting young professionals. Today, you can read two stories about the lives of our latest staff additions: “Girls’ Day at Memmert” and “Experiential learning near Big Ben and Chinatown”.

Lovely spring weather as the days before would have been the icing on the cake of the half marathon (21.1 km) HiRo-Run for Team Memmert last Sunday, April 4, 2013. However, our contestants defied the rain and cold temperatures – they crossed the finish line in excellent times.
