Corporate social responsibility is one of the key buzzwords of today. Responsibility towards society has always been an essential part of Memmert corporate philosophy. As a company, we are part of a solidarity society, which is why it is perfectly natural for Memmert to back social projects, too.
For many years at Christmas time, Memmert gives a generous 5-digit sum to the SOS Children's Village. The idea of founder Hermann Gmeiner is as relevant today as it has ever been because there are still children who are growing up without parents or who cannot be properly cared for in their families. Hermann Gmeiner would probably never have imagined that his first SOS Children's Village, established in 1949, would grow to become a global organisation which, hand in hand with institutions such as SOS Children and Youth Service or SOS Job and Training centres, fosters the social and career development of children and adolescents.
Memmert has also provided assistance following the devastating flood catastrophe in Pakistan, as well as for the church renovation in Büchenbach or with the establishment of a bush school in Senegal. And even the employees have been doing things for a good cause, for example when they cycled for the Nuremberg Tafel e.V. or had a barbecue to collect money for the campaign "Trösterteddy" (comforting teddy bears).
