1. Filament drying before printing
Prusa uses the Memmert UF30 for precise drying of printing materials. The UF30 offers adjustable temperature between +20 and +300 °C and forced-air circulation with controllable fan speed.
Because many high-performance filaments are hygroscopic (i.e. absorb moisture), a moist filament base can seriously degrade print quality. Using the UF30 allows Prusa to reduce moisture reliably to optimal levels.
2. Post-processing / annealing printed parts
The UF30 is also used for annealing or tempering printed parts to improve mechanical and thermal performance. This practice delivers parts with enhanced structural stability.
3. Consistent process conditions & reproducibility
Through precise temperature control, active ventilation, and adjustable fan and exhaust settings, Prusa ensures every drying or tempering process is reproducible—regardless of material or batch size.
This consistency is vital for quality control in volume production.
4. Seamless integration in production workflow
The compact design and thoughtful engineering of the UF30 allow Prusa to integrate it into existing workflows without major modifications. In addition, the device works well with the Prusa Pro Filament Drybox to prevent moisture reabsorption.
Prusa is not only a user but also an official Memmert dealer. In the Prusa shop, the UF30 (and often the larger UF55) are offered as accessories. This dealer role underscores how strongly Prusa believes in Memmert’s quality, performance, and support.
By reselling these devices, Prusa integrates Memmert not just as a supplier but as part of its own brand ecosystem.
